Hey all… New here. I’m looking to buy a cvp98 that won’t power on. Can you all tell me what I am getting into for repair cost or parts?
Hmmm - very old (1997) - risky!!
I am battling to restore/revive younger models that won’t power - mostly caused by corroded chip legs. I have had one where the legs were actually corroded off - no longer there.
Could also be caps on the main board - or the main PSU/Power amp board. Yamaha used bad caps for a while - they leak and destroy the PSU/Power Amp board.
Unless you open up the top and have a look -… way too risky for my liking.
