Hi all, The midi port on my ax-1 is a bit dodgy and by that i mean if the midi lead moves to the left slightly i have hung notes or missing notes. I’ve tried to find a replacement midi port online but can’t find any connector that looks the same with the same pin pattern fitting into the circuit board. Does anyone have any ideas on either where I could find a suitable replacement midi port or potentially repair this port. I’ll try and upload a photo (if I’m allowed).

I would not immediately suspect the connector itself. First, try a different cable or even turn the cable you have around. Second, look for a bad solder joint between connector pins and PC board and broken traces near the connector. Follow those traces to back where they go and make sure those solder joints aren’t bad. It may be the case that the connector’s sockets just need cleaning; you just need to find something the right diameter to do that with. There are only two pins of the connector that carry signal and they do so in a current loop so either one could be the cause of your problem.
