Hello everyone, ive had my JX3P for about 3 years after getting it from someone that said it was serviced by Switched On in Austin though as of recently the JX has made a faint buzzing noise around right center when its powered on. id assume maybe its the transformer but the synth still works fine with no glitches or weird electrical smell and the audio is fine as well in recording. Im not sure if I ever noticed it or if its normal for a synth this age but the buzzing is not loud but it concerns me a lot since the JX3P is very sentimental to me. any help is much appreciated.
I would lean towards a failing capacitor. If its in the right channel, that narrows it down to the output section, possible the output op amp.
if your able to service it, get a service manual, open it up and have a look for any leaking, bulging, or blown capacitors.
if not then try to identify any tantalum capacitors in those same areas. They can short internally without any visible signs.
Those are the most likely causes.
if your not able to, then take it back to a tech.
