CVP 98 Yamaha digital piano gives out cracking noise immediately when switched on. Noise level increases / decreases with volume slider up / down. All other functions jammed 5 secs after switching on. Anyone can advise please: what is the fault, how to remedy?
This is almost certainly a problem on the main board, and that board is no longer available from Yamaha. We do not have a used one.
Finding the faulty component(s) on that board will likely require a good tech and a fair amount of bench time. So it is quite possible that repairing this could cost more than the keyboard is worth.
