I wanted to modify the MPK mini mk2 pads by sticking two pieces on the two contact sides of each rubber pad. With the tape on the pads didn’t respond by clicking, it did light up when i pressed Prog Select. After removing the tape, they still dont work the same way. Everything else works except for the pads, I presssed on them and no MIDI signal is seen? I tried touching the film separating the PCB and the pads, still no signals. Is the pads part of my board cooked?
Could be residue was left behind from the tape. Try cleaning the PCB with some isopropyl alcohol. You may need to clean the pads too but only use warm water and a bit of dish soap. Rinse well with water to remove any soap after. Take care not to to rub off the carbon from the bottom of the pads while cleaning.
