My AX80 is being troublesome again. It has firmware version K and has been upgraded with the Tauntek firmware.
Symptoms are similar like the other dead note thread I found here except there’s a second error where in addition to the dead note there’s also a note that sounds like two voices at the same time and is very loud.
Looking at the schematic IC1 looks like a possible suspect in that it addresses the multiplexing ICs for the voice CVs and possibly activate more than a single voice channel at the same time. This is assuming the voices are gated on and off by the VCA control voltages.
Anyway that’s just some thoughts but I know it could be something entirely different.
What would be the best way to diagnose this and find out where the voice doubling is taking place? I’m not sure how to go about testing this?
