Clavinova CLP-260 No Power

Hey all,

I’ve got an older Yamaha Clavinova CLP-260. It had been sitting for a few years maybe getting played just a few times. I recently decided to get back into learning to play. The keyboard worked fine for about a week then one day I turned it on but no response whatsoever. No lights on, no sound, nothing. I opened it up, but due to my lack of circuit board knowledge wasn’t really sure what was going on. I’m wondering though if the transformer is bad. What’s the voltage suppose to be coming out of that? Any other ideas on what could be going on? Appreciate any help!

Try to get hold of the service manual and check the power supply output voltages

Check youtube to see what a capacitor looks like. You may have capacitors on your internal power supply board which are leaking due to it’s age. This happened on my Ensoniq ASR 10 Keyboard causing it to malfunction until total loss of power loss, totally dead! That’s the first place to check for your power problem. You can touch them without having it connected to any power. If you see or feel a fluid and they are leaky, you can have them replaced by a professional electrician like someone who does repairs at a music store. Most likely, this is your problem. Hope this helps :folded_hands:
