Crumar Multiman

Hi All,

I have a Crumer that is working fine except for some notes on the left section for the Piano/Harpicord/Bass that are sustained. To be specific, the issue is only happening with some keys, NOT all of the left side. The sound does end when releasing the affected key but a faint sustain can be heard and it doesn’t die away. I did basic voltage checks and cleaned the busbars, can’t figure it out.

Hi,
Its mostly a case of bad electrolytic capasitors.
You will find them in the sustain section of the printboards.
A schematic can be of help.
you can find the service manual on the internet.
Much success with your quest…
Best regards, Aad

Thanks Aad for the reply.

I was suspecting that but don’t you think bad caps on a shred board will impact all notes ?

I’ve also tried swapping the individual boards underneath the keybad between good and bad notes, both good and bad notes had the sustain now. Though it might be bad metal connectors, cleaned them thoroughly, no impact.

The unit i have is Multiman (without S) and i cant fund its schematic online.

Thanks

Hi,
I am not familiair with the Crumar products.
Does the “S” not just stands for “stereo”…?
In that case I suspect both basics are the same.
I had once repaired an Elka Rhapsody with the same issue and had to exchange 61 capasitors to get all sustains sounding “equal”
So I hope this is helpfull for you…
Next step: find a repairshop in your naberhood or find a tech guy to help you out…
Succes, and best wishes for 2025.
