Classic cvp89 not powering on. Tried different outlets but no luck. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Sounds like you’re going to need someone to checkout the power supply.
Depending on your skill level, you can do this your self if you have a service manual,
and the know how.

Mine has the same symptoms but I have checked and current does get to the PU105M board and then to the converter and back to the board.
On the board, I can see a leaked capacitor - which I now need to locate.
I suggest you do visually check if anything appears clearly defective (e.g. a leaked capacitor).

My beautiful CVP-89 started to shut off randomly while playing 1-2 years ago. I played it once every few months. It refused to turn on for the past few months. Then it turned on last week but shut off after a minute. Now it is just dead. How do I troubleshoot? I am ok with electronics but I don’t have a service manual CVP-89. Any help is appreciated!! Aska
