Hi folks,
I’m new here. I inherited an Ensoniq Avista 7600 from family, and it worked for several years until recently. Now, I’d love some help in figuring how out to figure out what’s going on, and if it’s worth my time/effort to try to repair. I’m not experienced with this sort of repair but I’m pretty handy and good at following instructions.
Best-case, is there some button I’m not familiar with that’s somehow caused this issue?
Here’s what happens when I hit the power button:
Panel lights up and says “welcome” as usual
Click from the speakers as they power on
Buttons work (Piano1, Piano2, GM, transpose, +/-)
Pressing keys produces no sound
Pressing DEMO, also no sound (display shows DEMO_ALL)
Adjusting volume slider sometimes produces slight crackle from speaker
With headphones in either slot on the front, or in rear Stereo Output, there’s also no sound BUT when I turn the volume slider up, there’s a quiet fuzz played through the headphones that gets a little louder
Thanks in advance for your help. It may be time for me to bite the bullet and buy a new keyboard.
