I have a DX7 (Mk 1) that is producing a decent amount of distortion/noise during the attack portion of the envelope on patches with a slow attack, (especially ones with bass-heavy content). It also occasionally produces audible “clicks” right when a key is pressed. The CR2032 is reading 2.8V and looks to be a relatively recent replacement. The electrolytics in the power supply are original and it still has the original 2-prong power cable; both of which I plan to replace in the near future.
My question is, is this a normal quirk of 80’s FM technology or is this indicative of a fault that needs to be addressed?
Would love your help in identifying the usual suspects when it comes to this.
