Hello all, newbie here just picked up a E-MU E4XT Ultra and the sampler powers on but the front panel doesn’t show any lights but I can hear the fan running. The lcd screen is blank with no backlight. Searching the forums and google, I’m seeing a lot of suggestions of replacing power supplies and lcd screens. I’m hoping to not buy unneeded parts as parts are already hard to find and that could keep others from getting the parts they need. Hoping the forum can lead me in the right direction.
If I were you, it’s time to buy an OLED Display. These are newly manufactured displays which are plug in play. No soldering involved. They contain their own backlight with the display opposed to the old school LCD Displays and look incredible! I’ve replaced most of my hardware studio gear displays with these from my Akai S-950, MPC-60 MK II, E-MU E4XT Ultra, E-MU Emax II, Roland XV-5080, Korg M1, Alesis MMT-8. Go to Ebay and look for a seller named, “ Luxdisplays”. He sells OLED Displays, has various colors available for practically all hardware gear. It’s so simple to replace, just remove the old Display by removing it’s screws and plug. Plug in the new OLED screw it back into place and put the outer metal cover of your gear back on with it’s screws. Done! Hope this helps.
