I recently got my hands on an extremely cheap E-Mu ESI-32 Sampler, however, it doesn’t have the SCSI card installed.
Syntaur has the SCSI card in stock but I cannot find any information on how to install the card and if it is even possible (some sources make it sound like my unit is an older one which is not capable of SCSI).
Which exact model is your ESI-32? I think all models 6201 and up have SCSI capabilities. If yours is a 6200 then I don’t think it has the interface on the motherboard for it.
Look inside your ESI-32. These machines are easy to open with a Phillips screwdriver. You should see two expansion slot headers on the mainboard (for SCSI and Digital I/O boards respectively) The SCSI expansion installs on risers, and should position a Centronics style 50-pin connector facing the rear of the unit though one of the expansion opening.
Less common, are ESI-32 with internally mounted drives, but there is tons of space under the hood for installing one.
Can you shoot and post up a photo of the inside of you ESI-32?
