my scsi is not connecting anymore, after looking into it i believe that there is a problem with my eps
i am not very knowledgeable when it comes to the repair, but in the image above is what i think may be the problem ???
the damage is on the circuit board dedicated to the storage device inputs.
what should i do ?
any recommendation or help is greatly appreciated
You would have to pull the board out to see what’s on the other side. Burn marks are generally not good, depending on what’s on the other side. That hole doesn’t seem to have a lead thru it , so I’m assuming it’s a ground connection connecting that plane to a trace on the other side.
I have a similar scsi card on mine, I’ll have a look at it. I believe there were 3 different manufacturers of these cards. I have seen on the one of the ensoniq forums about some issues and remedies. Or replacing the card if you see it on ebay. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are people making these cards again.
