Ensoniq MR-76 "UMTE 1290!" error on power up

As my luck would have it, my MR-76 is having an issue on power-up that I can’t find a solution for online, so I’m hoping someone will be able to help. I’ve already tried re-initializing it using the Erase button while powering on, and that does not fix it.

It goes though the normal routine of “Sorting Registration” and “Updating SoundFinder”, then displays “UMTE 1290!” and freezes completely after that.

Any help would be appreciated!

Does it power off after freezing?

No, the power stays on and frozen on that screen.

Perhaps contacting Thesoniq would give you some insight as to how you can proceed with the repair?

He is an Ensoniq guru and has most of the parts you would need for repair.
