I recently acquired an Ensoniq SQ-R Plus with a couple of ROM sound cards. I was enjoying messing around with the internal sounds (which were awesome) and decided to pop in one of the ROM cards to see what was there. Upon doing so the unit became completely unresponsive. I tried power cycling it and the screen is now completely blank. If I press any of the buttons “Button #2” “Button #4” etc will appear on the screen to correspond with the buttons I press but thats it!
I tried re-initializing the unit but got nothing still. The internal battery was low when I first turned on the unit, but operation was totally normal even after a few power cycles. The ROM card insertion seems to have done something to the synth and now I can’t get it to do anything! Any thoughts on what might be awry?
