Hi everyone! I’m looking for a motherboard/mainboard for an Ensoniq ASR-X.
A little backstory:
I bought this sampler back in May. The seller claimed it was in excellent condition and that everything worked, but the input and output audio signals were extremely quiet (there was sound in the headphones). The price was good enough, so I decided to take the risk, assuming it was probably just old capacitors that needed replacing.
After opening the unit and carefully inspecting it, I found a leaking capacitor and some damage to the board. The situation looked bad, but not necessarily fatal. Since I initially thought this would be a relatively straightforward DIY repair, I decided to send it to a workshop that repairs synthesizers.
This happened in Indonesia, and if you’re also based here — please feel free to message me. I’ll be happy to tell you exactly which workshop to NEVER, EVER take your instrument to! 
They kept the ASR-X for almost three months. I even ordered the ADC/DAC chips for the input and output audio paths for them. Every time I contacted them, they told me they were doing their best and that all their technicians were basically spending all their time thinking about how to fix it.
Unfortunately, the reality turned out to be much worse — and much more horrifying. When I finally got the board back, it looked as if it had been worked on by children with a complete surgical removal of empathy.
In short, after this “repair,” the Ensoniq went completely silent.
I haven’t been able to find anyone in Indonesia willing to take on the board restoration, and monitoring pretty much every relevant marketplace and forum on a daily basis hasn’t led anywhere either.
So, I’m looking specifically for an Ensoniq ASR-X motherboard/mainboard. I’m happy to buy one, and I’m also interested in a board that is untested or comes from a non-working unit, as long as there’s a reasonable chance of restoring it.
One more thing: if someone has a complete Ensoniq ASR-X they’re willing to part with, I’d also consider a trade — I have a Vestax PMC-46 MKII that I could offer in exchange for an ASR-X.
