Jomox] [T resonator 2] – [Left channel output more distorted and lower output than Right]
Hello first topic I am creating here. It seems that mailing a faulty jomox unit to germany is not a preference to anyone who owns one due to the complications. But this unit is a remarkable beast and I truely wish to have it functioning in order to utilize it in production and live performance. Please can someone give me some advice on how to go about checking for faulty parts?
thank you in advance
Gabriel
• Model & revision/OS: jomox t resonator 2 REV B. Its a stereo filter and effects processor with multiple internal feed back routes.
• Symptoms (what changed, when): A few years after I bought this unit (from thomann) the left channel output started to become very low signal and very distorted compared to the right output, and sometimes it just goes 100% silent until the gain knob is close to max. Note that the unit has a cross channel feed system . So even when the left channel is not outputting the signal coming from the left input, the unit can still feed the LEFT channel with RIGHT signal and that will come out of the LEFT channel, although it is too distorted. So due to the nature of the unit it can be confusing. I have already sent it to a technician but he returned it saying there is no issue.
• Tests already done (voltages, parts replaced): I have not done any tests yet, I have some experience switching parts but not soldering smd.
• Photos / audio clips:
Here I have a clip of a stereo signal coming in the unit and i filter the right chanell all the way down to reveal the faulty channel. I fiddle back and forth with the gain knob to show how the signal fades away once the gain is below ‘3 o clock.
