[Roland] [Juno-106l] – [VCF LFO not activating until slider 50% up.]
I recently replaced all push buttons, sliders and voice/wave generator chips. Everything seems to be working fine except the VCF LFO. It doesn’t do anything when the slider is 0-50% and once it his 50%, it sounds as if it is at 50%. I have checked the slider pot and it checks out. The solders looks fine. The LFO works fine with the DCO and PWM but just being weird with the VCF. Any ideas?
Sorry, this is my first post, forgive the formatting..
• Model & revision/OS: JUNO-106
• Symptoms (what changed, when): New to me in non-working condition
• Tests already done (voltages, parts replaced): Calibration
• Photos / audio clips: link to video
IC4 on the panel board is a 4052 multiplexer that handles multiplexing some of the front panel controls including the VCF LFO. Based on the symptom I’d trying swapping that chip out. Not many other points of failure for just the VCF LFO so good chance it’s that chip if the pot and soldering is all good.

Hey Travis! Thanks so much for replying!
I was just about to buy a 4502 to swap out but I did a little extra digging first and got it figured out. The pot had initially tested well (I was checking two of the spare pins of the pot) but when I went to check the voltage making it to the chip, something wasn’t adding up. I ended up reinstalling one of the old pots and it works fine. It ended up being a faulty new pot.
Thanks again for replying and being helpful!
