I just found this forum. I stumbled upon a post about fixing the LED sceen on a Korg Karma I purchased recently. It worked like a charm.
Basically it involved running the contrast value up and down for several minutes and leaving the contrast set at max. (62) for an hour. I no longer have missing vertical lines!!
I was all set to buy a new/used LCD panel.
