I am trying to do a key travel/contact test to confirm that the S1, S2 and S3 engage at the correct points on the key travel of the white and black keys. The Service Manual shows that this test mode is entered by holding down “CLASSICGRAND, ELECTRIC PIANO and CHURCHORGAN” while powering up. I have tried all of the closest-related combinations I can and I cannot get into this test mode. Does anyone know the correct key combination? Thanks.
This is the correct sequence:
Hold down the 3 buttons you mentioned while powering up the unit. Keep holding the buttons for a few seconds. Make sure you follow the procedure from the beginning.
1-Check full stroke of white keys an height of black keys
2-Adjust hammer position
3-Check S1 Stroke
Are you having issues because you replaced slip tape?
Hi, I still cannot get into this test mode. Is there some trick? Relative to this, my piano has keys labelled “PIANO 1”, “PIANO 2”, “E. PIANO” and “ORGAN”. I have tried all combinations I can think of and I cannot get into the switch test node. Have you actually been successful with this procedure on a real unit? Thanks.
Exactly what model KAWAI have you got - I am in the KAWAI service site and cannot find any reference to a CA65? Maybe take a pic of the model/serial no sticker and put up here.
