I have owned a Kawai mp 6 piano and it has served me well. The best keyboard action I have found on an electric piano.
Recently some notes stopped working. I watched an instructional video and disassembled, cleaned the rubber cups and all. Reassembled, and now some new notes stopped working while i fixed others.
The piano looks brand new, never moved, never used in gigs or anything. so what do i do with this great instrument?
I would attempt to repair it again but unsure or the result.
Does any one have advise? Part it out? The Keyboard and all other aspects are in perfect condition. i am in the NY , NJ area.
thanks

Sounds like the contact keyswitch boards need replacing. Call KAWAI America at 1 (800) 421-2177 and select the service for digital extension. Ask if the keyswitch boards for your MP6 are available and order them. If you need help in installing them let me know.
Regarding Kawai MP 6
Michael Thank you very much for your reply. I will contact them after the new year.
are there any video tutorials you can suggest?

No vids, however- if you’ve already opened up the keyboard and extracted the keyboard assembly, then it should be straightforward on replacing the pcb’s. Kawai normally has the rubbers attached already, but verify when you call.
Michael. I disassembled, cleaned , including rubber cups as suggested by someone else , and carefully reassembled. lol I did not have room in my studio for it apart.
I had to try it to see if it worked, unfortunately not, better with some, lost other notes…
So at least I know what I am looking at, not too difficult. I was an acoustic piano tech tuner for many years, I know its unrelated but…
its a great keyboard so I will try them.
