Korg 01/W FD Bank B issue

Hello Syntaur folks!

I just picked up a Korg O1/W FD off of FB marketplace. The case looks almost new and the keys, after touch, floppy drive, card slots, etc all work well. LCD still has life left. One problem. Bank B will not keep the combi/programs after switching off. I checked the battery and it reads 3.1 volts. bank A is fine, it retains the combi/programs after switching off.

I have to go to Global Page 7 and reload the factory combi/programs each time I turn the synth on. Once that is done it is all good. Turn off the Korg and back on again and Bank B is gone with only garbled characters for each Bank B patch.

Any ideas as to what the issue is? I am hoping i can fix this myself.

it may be that the battery is actually dead. It’s not often the case but once in a blue moon I will have a battery read good voltage but as soon as it is in it will die. Considering it is best practice to replace batteries why not give it a try and see how you get on. Worst case being the battery is ok and it’s something else which I may be able to help with.
