• Model & revision/OS:
• Symptoms (what changed, when): A couple of years ago, it started to crackle and buzz, and now turning it on I will hear some crackling, but no sound comes out.
• Tests already done (voltages, parts replaced): I assumed it was a capacitor problem, and so I opened it up and removed the amp board (marked KLM-1643 on the underside). No obvious leakage or clear issues with the solder joints. But rather than go through the entire board with a multimeter, I thought I’d ask if anyone had tried to do this before.
• Photos / audio clips:

Do you get the cracking from the headphones/aux out?

If the amp is faulty, these should be fine.

I have a Soundcraft Ghost 32LE console, when I bought it used a bunch of it’s Mic Pre volumes were super crackling and some outputs as well as inputs not showing or hearing any signals from external synths pluged in. I purchased a few cans of “Deoxit D5”. It fixed every issue with crackling and no signals too. The pots and some input jacks were oxidized. The cans of Deoxit come with a thin straw. Attach the stray and give a quick short tiny spray to anything crackling or not inputting or outputting any signal. Then for example, first disconnect it’s AC power cord and let’s say you take a pot’s or a slider cap off, spray into it then rotate the pot or move it’s slider up and down about 30 times quickly. Leave the machine alone unpowered for about 25 minutes for safety. Then re-connect the AC power plug and test the pot or slider for any audible crackling. By now the crackling should be a lot less or none at all. If you still hear some crackling then repeat the process. Remove power, spray again and rotate back and fourth 30 times, leave it for 25 minutes test it again. I had to spray some components 3 times. As far as input and output jacks go without signal, do the same but spray into it’s opening and use a short patch cable to put into and take out of it’s input or output jack. You can also spray the patch cables TRS or TS cable as well. This got my signals working on any dead input and output jacks. You can purchase the Deoxit D5 spray on Sweetwater Sound website. Hope this helps, it should for sure.
