I recently changed the battery on my M1 and now when booting it just freezes with error #28 on the screen. From there, no buttons or anything works on the synth. HAs anyone seen this before, have any ideas as to wha might be wrong?

I have the same error #28 after the battery swap. No buttons light up
My guess is it’s trying to access memory that is corrupt due to the battery state. A quick search says there is an init sequence, “hold down the INT, CARD and COMBI buttons at the same time whilst turning the power”. If it makes it through the boot sequence then you’ll need to send the factory sysex file to it, to restore the factory sound banks. If it doesn’t then I’d start carefully removing and reseating all chips and cables.
