Hi all, I have a used Odyssey with a missing cap and was wondering if all models use the same size? I know the FS sliders have a longer throw but I’m not sure if the shaft is the same size.
The closest thing on the site is this listed as only compatible with the FS, but I don’t know how accurate that is.. I’d take a chance but I’m in the UK and shipping would be three times as much as the part
Maybe I’d be better off sending one of the others to someone with a 3D printer or something!
Oh wow, many thanks for the kind offer - much appreciated! I may well take you up on it if all else fails.
No, I don’t think it’s a generic part available in some other context.. Or at least I couldn’t turn anything up in my various searches.
I’ve been in touch with an official Korg repair place to ask if they can get hold of one, they’re looking into it at the moment so hopefully I’ll get lucky there
I’m pretty sure the old Odysseys have pots with much thicker shafts than on the FS. It probably wouldn’t fit but I’m not 100% sure. Heat-shrink tubing or heat-shrink end caps makes a decent replacement but it’s a bit of a tacky solution.
Hiya, thanks a lot for that - really appreciate the offer! Very good of you.
I tried another approach and asked on the Modwiggler thread if someone could measure the slider shaft on the FS. It seems like they’re probably the same as suspected, so I ordered the FS part from Syntaur. I’ll update once it arrives on the very slim chance that someone else ever has the same question.
It feels a bit ridiculous essentially paying $38 for a tiny bit of plastic but I guess if I sold it on I’d have to knock some off the price for it being incomplete. Would’ve been nice if the person who sold it to me had done the same and mentioned there was a part missing rather than just grading it as ‘mint’ and calling it a day though! That’s many online sellers for you I guess.
