K2000 kurzweil malfunction…
Initially sounds correct after few minutes the tone changes to heavy distortion…could anyone reply the solution

The K2000 has a known issue with the FX RAM chip going bad. You can do a simple test to see if this is the root cause of your problem by letting the K2 warm up and when it sounds shitty, try reducing the global effects level to 0% in settings. If you got a bad chip, removing the effects will eliminate the distortion. New RAM chips are available and if you’re lucky it will be socketed on your board, so an easy fix. While you’re in there, check the big filter cap on the main board. It filters the +5V…and if it’s swollen on top (dome vs flat) then go ahead and replace it. Even if it looks OK you should check the solder joints as they can crack. Good luck…the K2 is a nice piece of kit and underrated by those that don’t know!
