Microkorg Program select skipping "retro" bank

Ok, so I am on one of the original models, not the XL. Just the Green/Black/Bronze one. I got it used.

Here’s what I am experiencing

If I switch through main program select, it skips the 6th bank “retro”

If I move up through programs 1. trance through 5. Hip hop everything works as expected. When I switch to 6. Retro the bank doesn’t activate, it stays on bank 5. If I continue to 7. SE/Hit the bank switches to 7, skipping 6.

If I got in reverse I get the same pattern. It stays on 7 till I get to 5 then it switches to 5.

I did contact cleaner on the rotary knob. Then I replaced the program rotary switch with a new syntaur one. Solders look good, and clean, and continuity tests seem to accurately work on all switch positions.

Aaaaaand still nothing. However… I did start using the editor and library vst plugin through midi connection, and I can trigger and use the Program bank 6 if I trigger it through midi. But if I hit any patch or program buttons on the device, it will jump to the currently positioned knob program/patch.

I think at this point I just need direction as to where to look on the PCB to check connection points or other bad components. Electronics is not really in my wheel house so I’m just not sure what to check next on the board. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated!

Based on the symptoms, it was logical to suspect the rotary selector.
The T4 connection (selector position 6) leads to the CPU (IC18 - Pin 38); this CPU port also appears to be used for keypad decoding.
A first check to perform: do all the keys work ?
If one or more keys do not work, the issue could lie with the CPU’s P64 port.
Alternatively, could it be the resistors (RA11 or RA13) on the T4 line, or perhaps a solder joint ?
