MODX7 out of tune by almost a semitone. All the time

Hi!

I have a Yamaha MODX7 I have toured with and it is now continuously out of tune by almost a semitone consistently across the board. All Patches.

I checked synth settings, tuning, re-installed the OS to newest version and the issue still persists 360.

I heard this “Out of Tuning” issue with the MODXs is something that’s happening to other MODX owners.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I live in Austin.

Have you checked the condition of the Bend Pitch?

Hey guys, just chiming in here. It was the Pitch Bend/Mod Wheel. The Detune/Drifting Issue was resolved cleaning up the wheel units from the inside with a bit with compressed air and reconnecting (reseating) the connector to the main board. I gig with the MODX all over Texas and its seen the road alot so seems somewhere along the line it accumulated dust and/or something became loose. I am also seeing a few other MODX users have this same random detune issue. I am just glad it wasn’t the mainboard and was a quick inexpensive fix. Thanks!

Transpose was set to zero. It still was out of tune by half a semitone. No much but its noticable and rendered all patches detuned by that amount. Sometimes there was also a random slight drift. All said and done it was the Pitch Bend/Mod Wheel. Cleaned and reseated connector and issue solved.
