Recently acquired a cvp 207, certain voices make strange noises, upon running tests in test mode everything came back okay except for wave rom, is this worth fixing or looking into or should I just leave it as is? So all the “natural”voices are badly corrupted, the rest are fine
Probably a corrupt ROM. You’d need to replace and flash the chips
I recently repaired a CVP208 for a church that was making strange noises, it turned out that the sound generator and associated support IC’s had some bad solder connections that were not really visible even with my microscope, the fix was to reflow all those IC’s and sound generator cards clean the boards which upon reinstalling powered up as expected with no further noise and all voices worked correctly.
