Nord Electro 6D issue with right channel

Hoping someone here has an idea of what this might be. If you plug the unit in cold it boots up in stereo and operates normally. Once it has been turned on once after being plugged in if you reboot it, it comes up with the right side turned off. This is in the headphones and output jacks. Unplugging for 2 minutes and restarting brings stereo operation back until the unit is rebooted again. Thanks in advance for any help. The nord repair partner for where I live is a few hours away.

This is a typical failing capacitor issue. Once parts warm up they loose their ability to regulate voltage properly. It could also be a failing transistor with same heat issue. You will need to take it to a tech to solve unfortunately as one failing capacitor usually means there are others.

You’re lucky you have a service provider close enough to drive. If it’s still under warranty ( and they are an authorized service center) they will either repair or replace the main board

Thanks, I’ll have to take it in. I’m the second owner so I doubt there is a warranty.

I fixed a problem like this on an Electro 6D last year. I noticed the channel would come back intermittently, and I finally figured out where to “press” on the board to make it fail, or get the signal to come back. On this Nord, the problem ended being with one of the tiny micro ferrite beads right before getting to the output jacks. Labeled “F” and the number. I assume they were ferrite, and not fuses, even though they are labeled “F”. I was able to resolder the culprit, and that fixed the issue.
