Nord Stage 3 88 Encoder Replacement

I gave my Stage 3 88 to a technician to replace the encoder that changes the piano section voices. The D-shaped stem had snapped off. It still worked, but I was just trying to replace it so I could operate with a proper knob.

Said technician swapped out the broken one for a new one, but it was getting no response changing patches. He then put the old one back on, and now it’s not changing patches.

He’s offering to pay for an entire new board, but I’m trying to troubleshoot before he’s out $500. Any suggestions? I need my rig this week for gigs!

It is likely he got the wrong encoder. As far as I know Nord can supply encoders for this model as I have replaced them in the past.

I’ll have a look through my service manuals and see if I can get a part number, this may take a while so please bare with me.

AMS 25274 Encoder with detents.
Encoder - Syntaur is the non detent part.
…unless its a potentiometer…
