Prophet 08 MIDI In issue- cuts off sound

Hey Y’all

Got a prophet 08 here that plays just fine so long as the MIDI in isn’t connected.

Upon restart, the prophet plays just fine with the midi disconnected. As soon as any midi signal reaches the prophet 08, the audio only makes the slightest sound of the patch to the most keen of ears.

Anyone have this issue or know what to look for in terms of replacing any parts?

Note

  • Have already tried resetting midi settings (Global + LFO 3) and recalibration of the keyboard (Global + LFO 2)

You could try updating/reinstalling the OS

Have you tried using different devices to send MIDI to the Prophet?

Some troubleshooting I’d try would be to see how it responds with Local mode off. Also you could play around with other MIDI settings and see if anything helps. It may not be a fix for the issue but it might help narrow down the problem.

Also I’d recommend emailing Sequential if we can’t figure out the problem, they’re very responsive to technical questions in my experience.
