I am servicing a Yamaha PSRsx975. I throubledhooted the issue (no boot or screen)
Aand determined the problem was. On the DM board, which I ordered and thus fixed the problem. The unit functioned for a few days and was brought back with the same non boot scenario, except the screen was frozen on the logo , but wasn’t fully “realized”, meaning it froze when forming the animation of the logo. (See pic) . I was told to return the DM for credit and order another, but the next new one has the same issue! I have swapped the AJACK, PNM,PNC, PNL, and PNR to eliminated issue might be coming from those sources (LCD also).
I do notice that IC208 (SDRAM) gets hot after a couple of seconds from power on. Can anyone help me figure out if this heat issue correlates to the non booting issue?
Thanks. I’m stumped. The only alternative at this point is to pack up and ship to another service center, but because of the cost of shipping is not prudent…..any help is appreciated.
