Rhodes Mk-80 No sound / unable to scroll

Hi All,

I recently acquired a Rhodes Mk-80 which is in pretty good condition cosmetically.

It turns on and the display works however there is no sound and it seems that the display is frozen as it does not change when scrolling through the sound options.

Any ideas of how to fix this would be appreciated.

Firstly - You say “the screen works” … what does it it read right now?

If the screen is showing something sensible then check the buttons. When you push any of the sound buttons can you feel, or even hear, a noticeable click sound? These are all tactile switches and do tend to go bad over time but are easily replaced
