I have an issue with a jdxa going out of tune on certain patches. In both cases where it is currently going out of tune they are both lead sounds. One of them is using the stacked feature and one of them is not. I have had it happen intermittently 2 or 3 times over the last 8 years but now appears to be having the issue a little more consistently. I have always put it down to being a power issue on stage. I’m now starting to think that it may be adaptor related.
Anybody else come across this issue?
Cheers
There is filter section with a bad capacitor that causes clicks, pops and other issues when the board temperature rises above a certain point. Roland offered a mod/repair that you can send the unit in to get done, but I don’t know if this is still free or if they now charge for it.
Contact Roland to find out.
Hi Trev,
Thanks for your response.
What I ended up doing was taking it to a tech. They ran the inbuilt diagnostics and made/applied some changes to the analog side of the board…
The tuning has been spot on since this work was done about a month ago.
I’ve also had a proper hard case made up to protect the unit as I don’t think a soft case is sufficient.
I also purchased a brand new unit about a month ago which will be my backup as I can’t afford for this synth to not be operational. It came with the black and white overlays which is pretty cool.
Cheers
