Roland JW50 blocked on "Internal RAM initialize?"

Hello everybody.

I’m trying my best to re-life a little JW50 (found in very bad conditions), changed some switchs and keys, I’ve tried all the sounds (played some minutes), before disassamble/reassemble for a faulty switch and then… No boot, just the screen writing : “welcome to the JW50 world, internal RAM initialize? (press enter)”. But nothing appends. I ve checked the CR2032, been carefull with the boards… Where did I go wrong? Thank you for any idea.

  1. Have you done a factory reset after working on it?
  2. is the floppy drive still working? If its faulty or dead, the unit won’t boot.

Thank you for your answer. The keyboard worked until this last disassemble.

I placed it face-down on some cushions to check the screen (backlight not working), changed the"enter" micro-switch and checked the cr2032 (ok). Then reassemble and… that.

I think some buttons were pressed and triggered the initializing process… The switch “enter” is good (99% i think) but doesnt stop or end the process. The floppy seems to be ok, since the system calls it during boot…

Very frustrating. Thank you anyway, any idea is welcome, salut de France
