Roland R8 Drum Machine - Won't boot

My Roland R8 drum machine power on but for a split second. The display shows information momentarily then it goes blank. Sometimes it displays information long enough for the word ROLAND to scroll across the display before going completely blank.

If the power supply is failing or has failed, would the drum machine exhibit this sort of behavior (or is it something else)?

Are you using the factory power adapter? You could get that behavior if you are using an adapter that is the right voltage, but not enough amp capacity.

Yes, it’s the original factory power adapter. Thank you for your reply. I will look to replace the adapter but didn’t want to do so without at least knowing it is possibly the culprit.
