Yamaha CS20m and CS40m YM617 IC?

Hi friends - I’m trying to learn more about these proprietary ICs that Yamaha used in the CS20m and CS40m. From what I understand these are all gone from Yamaha, and there aren’t direct replacements available. Have any of you had any luck with a substitute, or even wiring up an effective circuit to plug in?

There are 4 of the YM617 in the CS20, and another Yamaha chip YM615…

Any thoughts or experience with these chips is much appreciated. THANKS

I don’t know of any replacements for these. But a good source of info is the Yamaha IC Guide Book - you may be able to Google that up somewhere.
