I am having keyboard action problems on my Yamaha MOXF8. The keyboard action has softened up in the middle register. About an Octave and a half. The keys are noisy and Too mushy feeling. I replaced these keys myself years ago and this helped the action just a little. I know that there are some felt strips inside the keyboard that can be replaced. I suspect this is the cause of my issues. I’ve searched for years for a service technician in my area (US zip 29206) but no luck! Thanks for any advice!
Hi
If the real issue is the felt, and you have taken this keyboard apart to replace keys, you can replace the felt yourself.
I would separate the keyboard from the case and inspect it to verify the felt is bad. It is probably detached on the middle, which happens over time. The part number is V7640101 and can be ordered directly from yamaha24x7.com
