Yamaha PS-55 volume very faint

Hello to all!

Wondering if anyone can provide some advice on a strange phenomenon. It appears that the Master Volume slider on my Yamaha PS-55 has no effect on changing the output levels. The other volume controls work, however the master volume seems fixed at a very low level.

I’ve tried using contact cleaner on the potentiometer/slider, however, cleaning didn’t have any effect.

Strangely enough, the built in speakers, AUX out, and headphone out ports all seem to have the same symptom of low volume with audible background hissing/white noise.

Would swapping the board with the volume control or replacing the volume slider be the route to take? Thank you for any input or thoughts !

Thanks for the input, I’m not certain if the PS-55 supports a factory reset, however I will give this a try. I have a replacement board on the way from Syntaur, hoping this is the root of the problem, however, I have a strange suspicion that some components in the pre-amp/amp stage may have failed due to it’s age and wear.

Replace the switch. It’s most likely the probiem
