Hello,
I own a yamaha PSR 740. Its panel buttons are not working properly, have to press them really hard and even so their behaviour is very erratic. checked with multimeter, they give 500 ohmes when closed which is too much I guess.
I want to ask whether the replacement buttons for PSR 1000 offered by you would solve this problem?

It sounds like you will need to replace the tact switches under the buttons that are not working correctly. The switches are here:

Agree with Sam - I am a Yamaha repairer - tactile switches do suffer from contact resistance increase over time - unfortunately.
When you take the board out best to replace all of them at the same time. Saves headaches later …
