The “L/R split” button on my YC73 seems to have bit the big one. The LEDs will come on no problem but pressing the button does nothing at all. Yamaha themselves confirmed that the button will need to be replaced. With repair lead times and costs all at a huge premium from where I’m at, I’d like to try and replace it myself. Does anyone have any documentation regarding button replacements or repair SOPs? Thanks!
Surface Mount Device (SMD) technology - you need this tactile switch.
I suggest to open the case - locate the panel board containing the switch - remove that circuit board and measure SW309 and also check its associated diode D514.
If any of the two show to be faulty replace - you need a super fine solder tip or even better a solder tweezer to remove either of.
If both show good, the tactile switch should show less than about 10 Ohm, follow the respective circuit traces and measure continuity to its respective common select point.
